XAUUSD Spot GOLD Low-Risk Trading Plan

XAU/USD Low-Risk Trading Plan

1. Timeframe

  • Primary: Daily chart (trend direction)

  • Entry: 4H or 1H chart (precise entry)

  • Stop-Loss / Take-Profit: 4H chart

2. Indicators & Tools

  • 50 EMA (trend filter)

  • 200 EMA (major trend confirmation)

  • RSI (14) – oversold (<30) / overbought (>70)

  • Support & Resistance Levels – historical swing highs/lows

  • Optional: MACD for extra confirmation

3. Trade Setup

A. Trend-Following Pullback Strategy

  1. Identify the daily trend:

    • Price above 200 EMA → bullish

    • Price below 200 EMA → bearish

  2. Wait for pullback to 50 EMA on 4H or 1H chart.

  3. Confirm with RSI:

    • Bullish: RSI > 40, recovering from oversold

    • Bearish: RSI < 60, dropping from overbought

  4. Optional: Check for candlestick confirmation (hammer, bullish engulfing for longs; shooting star, bearish engulfing for shorts)

  5. Enter trade in trend direction at pullback completion.

Stop-Loss:

  • Just below recent swing low (for longs)

  • Just above recent swing high (for shorts)

Take-Profit:

  • Minimum 1.5× distance of stop-loss

  • Adjust if next major resistance/support is closer

B. Support & Resistance Bounce

  1. Identify key levels on daily chart.

  2. Enter long near support or short near resistance.

  3. Confirm bounce with RSI or price action (reversal candlestick pattern).

  4. Stop-Loss: Slightly beyond support/resistance (~10–20 pips buffer)

  5. Take-Profit: Next significant resistance/support

C. Safe Breakout

  1. Wait for daily candle close beyond key level.

  2. Confirm with volume spike or 4H momentum candle.

  3. Enter at breakout candle open.

  4. Stop-Loss: Just inside breakout level

  5. Take-Profit: 1.5–2× risk

4. Risk Management

  • Max 1–2% of account per trade

  • Position size calculation:

Lot size = (Account risk in $) / (Stop-loss in pips × pip value)
  • Never move stop-loss further to avoid loss

  • Avoid high-impact news (Fed, CPI, USD events) unless experienced

  • Entry: 2045 USD

Key Principles Recap

  1. Trade with the trend.

  2. Use pullbacks, support/resistance, or confirmed breakouts.

  3. Stop-loss always set.

  4. Risk ≤ 2% per trade.

  5. Maintain minimum 1.5× risk/reward.

  6. Fundamentals carve Technicals: ALWAYS REMEMBER THIS. Hence always refer data, analyse as per economics and mathematics based formulas, and then refer technicals.
